Wood of Washington, was married to Mr. James W. Han- back, son of Mrs. Nannie Moss Han- | back and the late Mr. W. F. Hanback of Warrenton. The Rev. Charles T. Herndon, pastor of the church, offi- ciated at noon in the presence of a small company and a wedding break- fast was served immediately after in the home of the bridegroom’s mother. ‘The bride wore a becoming costume of black and white velvet, her close- fitting hat of white velvet and her coat of black. She wore a corsage bougquet of white rosebuds. Miss Doro- thy Hanback, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor and the best man was Mr. Joseph E. Wood, brother of the bride. Luncheon for school children will be served at 12 o'clock and for adults at 1 o'clock. There will be tables of dolls, grab- bags and candy for children and gift aprons, food and novelties for adults. Mr. and Mrs. Hawling Celebrate Golden Wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hawling of Bluemont will celebrate their golden wedding annrversary this evening in Humphrey Hall, when more than 100 guests will be present. Theyv were mar- ried in Washington, December 4, 1884, and have resided in Bluemont 40 of their 50 years of married life. They hold a record for good health. Mrs. Hawling, who is 76, has not had a doc- tor called to give medical aid in the 50 years, and Mr. Hawling, 81, only once, a few years ago, and then for only a minor illness. They have no children. Mrs. Hawling has two sis- ters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cole of Leesburg and Mrs. Jane Harding of Washington, and two brothers, J. F. Griffith of Philamont and B. T. Griffith of New York, all of whom will be present. Mrs. Hawling will wear this evening 8 gown of her trousseau. It is of tobacco brown silk and moire, with an only ornament, a gold prooch, a family heirloom over 100 years old.
