You will Atlantic 1700-1701 | | ARTHUR H. MURRAY CLAIMED BY DEATH Outstanding Government Tax Expert Succumbs to Heart Attack. Arthur H. Murray, 47, senior tech- nical advisor to the commissioner of internal revenue and outstanding Government tax expert, died of a heart attack yesterday at his home, 3207 Northampton street. Born in Washington on November 19, 1887, son of Rev. S. Reese Murray of the Methodist Episcopal Church, he was a graduate of the Georgetown Law School. His first Government position was as chief assay officer of the Treasury in Salt Lake City, Utah, In the Wilson administration, he served as secretary to three Assistant Secretaries of the Treasury, Newton, Malburn and Moyle. Later he repre- | sented the solicitor of internal revenue in New York and Washington. Mr. Murray was one of the first lawyers appointed to conduct trials on behalf of the commissioner of internal revenue, when the Board of Tax Ap- peals was created in 1924, the work taking him to all parts of the coun- try. In July, 1930, he was made a member of the Special Advisory Com- mittee to assist the office of the com- missioner of internal revenue. He was made senior technical advisor to the commissioner last year. His widow, Mrs. Anna J.
