Specialties were mostly 1 to 2 higher and with few exceptions other sections of the list moved frac- tionally higher. Trading was in larger volume. Dow Chemical extended its early advance to more than 3 points and gains of 1 to 2 occurred in Aluminum Co., Distillers’ Corp.-Seagrams, Gulf Oil, Hiram Walker, Jones & Laughlin. Northern States Power “A” and United Shoe Machinery. Pacific Tin (special) improved more than 4. Publishes Manual to Aid Instruction, OLUMBIA, in behalf of the 4merican School of the Air, has just published the 1934-35 edition of its “Teachers’ Man= ual and Classroom Guide” as an aid in augmenting broadcast in- struction. The manual, issued for the sixth successive year, directs reference work and active participation in the subjects treated during the School of the Air programs. The “Teachers’ Manual” is compiled by Helen Johnson, broadcasting direc- | tor of the American School of the Air. The contents include synopses | each day’s radio projection, foot- noted with music references and visual |aids, such as lantern slides, paintings and illustrated books; helpful publica- tions, news bulletins, motion pictures and vocational guidance bibliography.
