The Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis today requested a re- port from several thousand persons who have failed to make a return on Christmas seals malled them during | the campaign last December. ! Although a stamped and addressed | return envelope was inclosed with each mailing, a check of the list reveals that many have neither returned the #eals nor sent money for those retained. A final letter and “Christmas seal tracer” has been sent out by Mrs. Ernest R. Grant, president of the as-| soclation, with blanks to be filled out indicating whether the seals were r(‘—‘ ceived, if any had been sold, and i remittance had been made or merely | delayed. | In her letter, Mrs. Grant stressed | the fact that an increased death rate from tuberculosis has been l'(‘p(n'tel.i,1 and that “help is needed this year as never before.” A total of 802 children were known to be affected with the disease last year, Mrs. Grant pointed out. The sale has falled so far to bring in| enough money to ca out the new community health program of the ‘Tuberculosis Association. GREAT LAKES AIR LINE CUTS FARES Reductions Ranging From 10 to 65 Per Cent Announced by Officials. By the Associated Press. DETROIT, April 1—Fare reductions | ranging from 10 to 65 per cent were an- nounced yesterday by Transamerican Airlines, Inc., to become effective with the formal opening of general offices for its Great Lakes air system at the Detroit city airport today. The general offices, along with ex- ecutive offices of its ground organiza- tion, the Thompson Aeronautical Cor- oration, have been moved here from leveland. The fare on the amphibian 55-min- ute route between downtown Detroit and downtown Cleveland is reduced from $11.90 to $10.75. Resumption of this service has postponed until April 10 because of ice conditions. The $8.95 fare on the 80-minute De- troit-Toledo-Cleveland overland _route is unchanged, but a new combined schedule calls for six round trips daily between Detroit and Cleveland, or four on Sundays and holidays. The Detroit - South Bend - Chicago through fare of $13.25 is unchanged, but the Detroit-South Bend fare is-re- duced from $9.95 to $8.90 and the Tate between South Bend and Chicago frem $4.95 to $4.35.
