Forty-four young Washington sing- ers have enrolled for the Natiops! Radio Audition contest of the Atwater Kent Foundation, the preliminaries of which will begin tomorrow night in the studios of Station WRC in the || National Press Building. Twenty-three of the contestants are young women and 21 are young men. The young women will be first to un- dergo the auditions. They will com- pete tomorrow night. The young men are to have their auditions Priday night. The four best singers in each group will compete in the finals to be held the week of October 25. The final feature will be broadcast by WRC. Winners of the final event will have an_opportunity to participate in the $25,000 cash award and scholarships for the successful finalists in the national auditions. Winners of the national au- ditions will reach $5.000 in cash each, a gold decoration and two years' tuition in an American institution of music or instruction from a recognized music | teacher. | Second-place winners will receive |$3,000 and one year's tuition.
