A HOLLINGSHEAD RITES TOMORROW Retired Navy Department Draughtsman Leaves Son and Daughter. Funeral services for Samuel A. Hol- | lingshead, 74, 6 Rosemary street, Chevy Chase, who died Friday in Provi- dence Hospital after a long illness. will be held at his late residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Born in Baltimore, July 31, 1857, Mr. | Hollingshead moved to Chester, Pa. | and Washington in turn, coming here to take a position as ship draughtsman in the Bureau of Construction and Re- pairs, Navy Department. He held this poct ‘44 years before being rejired in Mr. Hollingshead was the grandson | of Chief Engineer Samuel Archibald, ' U. 8. N, during President Buchanan's administration. His grandfather accom- panied Admiral Perry Japan when Mn: operations were opened with that country. An yncle, Capt. Frank I. Hollingshead, owner and pilot of the Steamer “Arrow,” a mail vessel of historic note on the Potomac River, was a picturesque figure in the c'plul during Clvil War days. Hollingshead was a member of Penmphl Masonic Lodge, No. 23, and was master of that organization in 1896. He was also a member of the Association of Oldest Inhabitants of the District of Columbia. Masonic services will be held at the interment in Fort Lincoln Cemetery. He is survived by a son, Frank R. Hollingshead, and a daughter. Bessie G Hollingshead, both of this city.
