HE son of a world-famous Italian compeser, Giuseppe di Benedetto, tenor, heard in National Broadcast- ing Co. programs, has become equalty famous through the medium of radio. He was the first opera singer to see the pos-ibilities of opera “on the air.” Di Benedetto was born in Italy. By the time he was seven years old he was studying music under his father's guidance. At cight, he was a soloist in church oratorics. Later, as his voice hegan to change. he studied law at the | University of Nables. Although he per- severed with his university work and graduated with an LL.D, Fe again took up music. He served in the World War, was wounded in action, and was | decorated by the King for bravery un- der fire. After the war he returned to his music. In 1921 he came to America with an operatic company which later failed. The company returned to Italy without Di Benedetto, who remained to make a concert tour.
