g YOUTHS CONFESS KILLING OFFICER Two Seized After One Is Wounded in Pursuit in Oklahoma. Okla, March 27— Two youthful can!eued slayers of & New York State trooper today awaited return to New York to face murder charges. One, Stanley Chero, who tried to es- cape when arrested Wednesday night in a stolen motor car, was in a hospital with a shattered leg. The other, Wil- liam Schemnitzer, who said Chero fired the shot that killed Troop Sergt. John E. Frey the night of March 18, was in jail. The service pistol of the slain man's companion officer, Edward C. Ufrdl proved the Nemesis of the eetng youths. Took Officer’s Gun. “Stanley shot the officer,” Schem- nitzer said, “and I took a gun away from the other trooper, who stopped us.” “Yes, that's true,” Chero said later. “I should have pitched that gun in a_river somewhere,” Schemnitzer said. “We crossed enough of them.” A filling station attendant became suspicious of the two when they parked near his station ‘and called police.
