. INDARA ELEPANT FOSSL INPORTAN Scientists Leave Albany to Investigate Rare Skeleton Just Unearthed. By the Assoclated Press. BUFFALO, December 15.—Dr. Charles J. Pish, director of the Buffalo Mu- seum of Science, and another scientist departed today to investigate a newly- reported fossil elephant skeleton which has just been unearthed in_North- eastern Indiana. A report to Dr. Fish states that the tusks are 101; feet in length and that in all probability the entire skeleton can be obtained. The beast in life probably measured at least 15 feet in height. Since complete skeletons of pre historic elephants are rare, this find is considered of great importance. Usually only tusks are found, but in this case the entire skull has so far| f° been unearthed. If the condition of the skeleton is satisfactory, Dr. John T. Sanford, curator of geology and paleontology at the museum, will join the party to supervise the excavation and compilation of scientific data.
