W. Beatson, its executive secretary, announced last night. ‘The league is an organization of 5,500 of the country’s prominent men formed for the purpose of educating and crystallizing public opinion on out- standing issues of the day. In 1926, 52 per cent of those par- ticipating in a poll of its members voted against repeal of the eighteenth amendment. In this year's poll, Beat- son said, 55 per cent of this voting favored repeal. Over Half for Repeal. A total of 2,633 votes were cast in!| the poll, which included a great number | of questions.
