PLUMMER ELECTED KIWANIS GOVERNOR Hagerstown Pastor Chosen at Norfolk Meeting of Capital District. Speoial Dispatch to The Star. NORFOLK, Va., October 25.—Rev. . F. Berry Plummer of Hagerstown was elected governor of the Capital Ki- wanis District at the twelfth annual convention at Virginia Beach today to succeed Jesse H. Binford of Richmond, whose term expires December 31. Robert E. Turner of Norfolk was re- elected district secretary-treasurer. ‘The Capital district comprises 48 clubs in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Baltimore was selected as the city which will entertain the Kiwanis dis- trict convention in 1931. Robert A. Hutchison of Manassas was elected lieutenant governor of the first divi- sion, succeeding Edwin F. Hill of Wash- ington, D. C. The clubs in this divi- sion are Alexandria, Fredericksburg, Manassas and Winchester, Va.; Cum- berland, Frederick and Hagerstown, Md., and Washington, D. C. Officers of Other Divisions. In the second division Carleton Barn- well, Lynchburg, will succeed Sam 8. Stephens of Martinsville, Va., as lieu- tenant governor. This division is com- posed of the following clubs: Bassett, Chase City, Crewe, Danville, Lynchburg, Martinsville, South Boston and Vic- toria, Va. ‘The third division will have Frank C. Wiley of Salem as lieutenant gov- ernor to succeed Rev. Francis Scott of Roanoke. This division is composed of clubs at Big Stone Gap, Coeburn, Ma- rion, Norton, Pulaski, Radford, Roanoke and Salem, Va. The new lieutenant governor for the fourth division is George T. Elliott of Hampton, who will succeed David Nel- son Sutton of West Point. The clubs in this_division are at Ashland, Em- poria, Richmond, Hampton, Hopewell, Newport News, Norfolk, Petersburg, Portsmouth, South Norfolk and West Point, Va. James L. LOS ANGELES, October 25.—A suit involving radio patent rights assertedly worth millions of dollars was filed in Federal Court today by the De Forest Radio Co. of New Jersey. It #sked an injunction restraining the Lee De For- est Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Los An- les, from making, selling or distribut- radio apparatus under the name ‘The New Jersey concern said it had usive rights to use the names ‘De it” and “Lee De Forest” under an agreement made in 1914.
