NEW YORK, October 24.—A shark when enraged by blood lust will attack a man and need not turn on its side to do it, either, J. E. Willlamson, under- sea Dhowgrnpher said Wednesday on his return from the Bahamas. He took motion pictures of sharks from a steel champer equipped with glass windows 2 inches thick, suspended 100 feet below the surface. When animal blood was poured into the sea beside his chamber the taste of it enraged the sharks. Seeing Willlam- son inside his 5-foot window, they tried to break through the glass to reach him. A shark’s eyes are on the side of its head, so it turns on its side when com- ing to the surface in order to see better. Williamson believes this peculiarity gave rise to the popular belief that a shark turns sidewise when attacking. Williamson's chamber was extended downward from the bottom of a special- 1y equipped vessel like a telescope. Ven- tilation equipment enabled him to stay below the surface in the chamber- all day. There was sufficient light at a dept.h of 60 feet for him to take {)hm.o- g‘lphl without the ald of artificial light, sald, and it was possible to see from 200 to 400 feet from the chamber at that depth. -At greater depths artificial light was 3 HEALTH BODY MEETS Board of Trade Group to Convene Next Thursday.
