By the Associated Press MIAMI, Fla, March 26.—Names of nine of the original 24 social elite of Miami's Winter colony were withdrawn last night from a $10,000 damage suit filed by Irene Bordoni, stage star, and seven other plaintifis who sought re- muneration for services in connection with a society circus here March 7 and 8. Nine names were withdrawn from the suit yesterday, according to William J. Dunn, plaintiff's attorney, who filed a praecipe in Circuit Court to strike the names from the list. They include: Mr. and Mrs. George Hare, Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. Rex Stafford, Buffalo; Mr. and Mrs. Hewett Brown, Coral Gables; James H. Gilman, Miami banker; C. 8. Cooper, Miami Beach, and Mrs. Elliot F. Shepard, Miami Beach. ‘The names of Col. E. H. R. Green, son of Hetty Green, and Frank Gan- nett, newspaper publisher, were with- drawn from the suit shortly after it was filed in Circuit Court last week. “These 11 persons have convinced me that they were in no wise connected with the presentation of the society circus,” Dunn said. “They assert that their names were used as patrons and patronesses of the affair by Mrs. Gan- son Clark, the producer, absolutely], without their knowledge or consent.” Dunn said today that process servers have not yet located Mrs. Clark.
