BIRMINGHAM, Ala, Decem- ber 17.—When Mrs. R. Mosley of Atlanta, Ga., visits Birmingham again she will be careful to stay awake. Arriving at the terminal sta- tion here early in the morning, Mrs. Mosely retired to the ladies’ rest room for a twe-hour wait between trdins before continuing her journey home. Removing her hat, she sat down and immediately fell asleep. In a complaint filed with police, Mrs, Mosely said that while she slept some one, not content with purloining her hat, removed her shoes from her feet. - She nearly missed her train. MICHIGAN BOMBINGS JOLT NEIGHBORHOODS Detroit Store Owner Arrested When Three Cans of Gasoline Are Found in Place. By the Associated Press. DETROIT, December 17.—Two bomb- ings in Detroit and Highland Park, one Sunday night and the other shortly after midnight yesterday, shattered windows and damaged a filling station and a grocery. No injuries were reported. Explosion of a can of gunpowder be- side a gasoline pump at a filling station in Highland Park early this morning shattered windows for blocks around. No motive has been found by police in- vestigating the explosion. ‘The front of a grocery store in Mont- clair avenue in Detroit was blown out last night and the neighborhood shaken by an explosion in the establishment. Frank Marino, 40, owner of the store, was taken into custody when police re- ported discovering three five-gallon cans of gasoline in the store. The letter, which seeks to provide more adequate transporta- tion facilities for the section, was re- ferred to the committee on utilities for careful consideration, after which it will be forwarded to the Public Utilities Commission for action.
