. S ENTRY TAES HORSE SHOW PRIZE Tan Bark Beats Italian Pride ; in International Individual Military Event. By the Associated Press, NEW YORK, November 14.— With two wonderful exhibitions of jumping, ‘Tan Bark, ridden by Lieut. E. F, Thom- son of the United States Army, last night won the international individual military event. defeating Suello of the Italian army in a jump-off at the National Horse Show. Capt. Francesco Formigli was on the Italian jumper. The two horses turned in perfect per- formances in their first appearance against their rivals from five nations, but in the jump-off Tan Bark nosed ouz Suello by a margin of 2 points. American horse had 6% uulu whue the TItalian thoroughbred had 8l errors. With one one-hnlr fault to hla credit third went to Montreal, the big Canadian jumper, ridden by Lieut. C. C. Mann. Four Horses in Tie. Although there were only two awards, four horses tied for fourth place with 1 fault each. They were Joe Aleshire of the United States Army, Sergt. Murphy of the Canadian army, Basse of the Ital- ian army and Leharo of the champion- ship Polish team. After Pegas, with Lleut Stefan Starnawski in the saddle, injured at the stone wall and Redlledt substituting -for Hamlet, and Lieut. Kasimierz Gzowski up, had com- pletely mussed up the first four jumps, The Irish Free State entered only two horses, Slievenamon and Lismore, both of which were outclassed. Golden Gleam, of the Canadian army, last night tossed his rider, Capt. Stuart Bate, to finish with 415 faults. Dick ‘Waring, the third of the United States trio, was ridden by Maj. H. D.
