Special Dispatch to the Star. NEW YORK, October 11.—Copper statistics for September were of a fa- vorable nature, with stocks of refined copper in North and South America ag- gregating 84,751 short tons, a rease of 9,621 tons from previous month, the first reduction since March. Production for the month was 134,343 tons, compared with shipments of 143,- 964. Whereas shipments held fairly constant at the level of the previous month, production declined sharply from 148 64! to 134,343 tons. Part of this decline in refined pro-~ duction is attributed to the strike at a major refinery during the month rather than to a curtailment in output. This is substantiated to some extent by total stocks, including blister copper, on Oc- tober 1, which amounted to 347436 wns, zzbollt -1,500 tons above September 1, 1929: POULTRY MARKET.
