By the Associated Pres: HAVANA, June 14—What is de- scribed as the largest and most flour- ishing false passport mail order office operating in Cuba was raided by Cuban secret police and eight men are under arrest. Police say that false passports not only were being issued locally, but evi- dence showed an extensive business was being done through the mails. Most of the bogus papers were for en- trancs into the United States. Several prominent professional men of Havana and several South Ameri- cans ere said to be implicated. COUNTERFEITING CHARGE AGAINST FOUR IS MADE Oklahomans Named in True Bills Returned by Federal Grand Jury. By the Associated Press, MUSKOGEE, Okla., June 14—Four indictments against alleged members of a counterfeiting ring which operated throughout the Southwest were included among 46 true bills returned yesterday by the Federal grand jury here. The operations of the ring were thought to have amounted to several millions of dollars. Arthur Applegate, foreman of a Muskogee engraving plant; Thomas Fanatamas, owner of a sign shop at Sand Springs, Okla., and W. C. Crabb and Harley Dean of Tulsa were indicted in the case. Applegate was said by officers to have assisted in the making of plates from which spurious $20 bills were printed in Mexico and distributed throughout the Southwest.
