The Monarch Club of Washington | celebrated its reorganization with the presentation of its charter at a dinner | in the National Press Club mllln)flm‘l Wednesday night. Representatives of the local “service clubs and delegates ' from Monarch Clubs of 10 other cities were on hand to extend felicitations. Christopher J. Meetge, national vice | president, who has organized clubs in | nine States along the Atlantic seaboard | and who was responsible for reorganiza- tion of the Washington club, acted as | toastmaster and made the charter pre- sentation. Albert Speiden, president of | the club, accepted the charter and spoke | briefly. | Clarence R. Ahalt, national president, | welcomed the visiting representatives and urged them (o attend the national convention in Nashville June 24 and 25 Many Clubs Represented. Mr. Meetze urged all members to put their shoulders to the wheel and make the club a success and a credit to the Capital. “People come to this city from all parts of the country, and when fellow Monarchs come here the first place they Jook for is the headquarters of the Monarch Club, and the first informa- tion they seek is when that club holds its next meeting, and it is up to you to make this club one that wil be remem- bered when those people go home,” con- cluded Mr. Meetze. Following the acceptance of the charter by Mr. Speiden, every one joined hlné‘l! and sang “Blest Be the Tie That Binds.” Rev. Haskell Deal pronounced the invocation. Tiniest Church Found. In the search for tiny churches, which was started recently in England and has extended to include the British TIsles, the smallest ecclesiastical building in Britain is believed to have been found in St. Margaret's Chapel, Edin- burgh, Scotland. It is 16!, feet long and 10!, feet wide. The tiny Dorset church of Winterborne Thompson is another miniature building, being 23 feet by 14 feet.
