Mpy. Sheets, assisted by Miss Margaret C. Lancaster, president of the District Federation of Garden Clubs, will be here to advise and help you. Appreciation of the iris is growing by leaps and bounds. Where a few years ago the majority of us thought of them only as the “blue flags” of our grand- mothers’ gardens, we now know that there are hundreds of varieties—in a won- derful range of color and perfection of form, pleasing in fragrance—delightful in the garden or as cut flowers. This Iris Show which we have arranged represents our initial effort in the show- ing of Iris. For that purpose we have selected Mr. Sheets because he has been growing, importing and developing new varieties in Iris for the past 15 years. Many Choice Irises Will be Shown in ‘This Exhibit Mr. Sheets has more than 1,000 different varieties of Iris. His collection has been brought together from the gardens of practically all American and European hybridizers, and is one of the most noted collections in this country. Mr. Sheets will have some of his own seedlings on exhibition, also a number of varieties that have never before bloomed in this country. Orders placed during the show will be delivered at the proper time for planting—this coming Summer. 25¢ to $25 per root PLANT AND GARDEN SECTION, FirtH FLOOR.
