ARSON SUSPECTED IN CHURCH BLAZE Tub and Jug of Gasoline| Found in Edifices of Fort Worth Baptists. \By the Associated Press. { FORT WORTH, Tex., January 12 — Fire believed to have been of incendiary origin earl ytoday destroyed the First Baptist Church here, of which Rev. J. Prank Noitis, noted fundamentalist lead- er and reform crusader, is pastor. A four-story brick Sunday school building and gymnasium adjoining the church 1, and t of 50 wil also burned. Episcopal, and a cast of Left to right: Misses Rose Williams, Patricia Jones and Virgie Williams of the Transfiguration Players, appearing in a minstrel show at the Park Theater, Fourteenth and Crittenden streets, Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 8 o'clock. The play is under the sponsorship of the Church of the Transfiguration, ill take part. Investigators searching the ruins for clues as to the origin of the fire reported unecovering evidences of incendiarism. District Attorney Robert Stewart said & tub containing gasoline and water nud a five-gallon jug of gasoline were found in the Sunday school building. The jug was in the basement and the tub was on the third floor. Two charred tubs were found under debris of the church building where the fire started. Dr. Norris, who has had a stormy career here, was in Austin when in- formed of the fire and returned here this afternoon. The original First Baptist Church, oft which Dr. Norris also was the pastor, burned in 1912.
