ELIZABETH KING T0 BECOME TYPIST Woman Convicted of Slaying Babies Will Be Rehabil- itated Here. Miss Elizabeth M. King of Wood- mont, Montgomery County, Md. who will be pardoned from the House of Correction by Gov. Albert C. Ritchie on Christmas eve, after having been con- figed since her conviction in April, 1925, at Rockville of smothering her two fllemlimaw bables, will live at the Prisoners’ Relief Society while learning to become a typist. This was made known by Dr. E. E. Dudding, president of the society, last night, in response to inquiries concerning the case in which Miss King was convicted on a ‘manslaughter charge and sentenced to serve 10 vears’ imprisonment. Miss King, he explained, will be taught typing in the society’s headquarters and live there, completing her course in about a month and then she will be given a new name and given a fresh start in life. that Annoyncement Ritchie Gov. plans to release Miss King was made public in Annapolis yesterday, and Dr. Dudding, who has interested himself in the case for several weeks past, re- vealed a letter from the governor in which the Maryland executive express- ed the hope that the woman would like her new surroundings and become rehabilitated. Through friends of the society, Dr. Dudding said, Miss King—under a new name—will be given employment after she has qualified as a typist. Included in the people of Washing- ton &nd Maryland, who interested themselves in the King case, Dr. Dud- ding declared, is Miss Cornelia Lazenby, who taught school here for 40 years. The King case created considerable interest in 1925. The bodies of the two infants were found in the attic of a house by boys and reported to the po- lice. Investigation resulted in the ar- rest of Miss King. One-Handed Pianist Scores.
