Messages from K. of C. During the weck, morcover, messages eongratulating the Pope on his sacer- dotai jubilee will pour in from Cath- olic socicties, notably from the Knights of Columbus in the United States, and that smaller body, the American Chap- ter of the Knights of Malta, founded last year, of which Cardinal Hayes of New York is the spiritual director. Apart from the actual celebration of the anniversary in San Carlo, the event of the week dearest to the Pope's heart will be the dedication of the Lombard seminary to the training of more young priests from the pontiff’s native region. The very altar where the then Father Ratti said his first mass has been renovated, its stucco replaced by mar- ble and the whole decorated in bronze. Solemn pontifical high masses will be sung before it every morning of the Jjubilee week, and every evening pon- tifical vespers will be chanted there. ASYLUM FUGITIVE TRICKS PHYSICIANS Posing as Pathologist, He €ashes $350 Check, Then Vanishes. It Proves No Good. By the Associated Press. LOS ANGELES, December 17— George A. Webster, 40, an inmate of the State Hospital for the Insane at Agnew, Calif., disappeared a few weeks ago. Now the Norwalk State Hospital as well as the Agnew institution would like to find Mr. Webster. At the Norwalk Hospital, so the offi- cials told police, a suave gentleman appeared the other day, introduced himself as a research expert and path- ologist. He was given the freedom of the institution, and was feted by the staff. He finally cashed a eheck for $350 on a Santa Rosa bank. Then a dinner was arranged for the visitor, but a telephone eall advised the officials that he would be unable to appear. In fact, his absence from then on became continuous. ‘When it developed that the check ‘was not good, Norwalk and Agnew offi- cials compared notes. They found Mr. ‘Webster and the “pathologist” were identical. Sheriff deputies have started to look for the inmate’s trail.
