We have control over that, and i’s the function thal causes the most trouble. See that your children form regular bowel habits, and at the first sign of bad breath, coated tongue, biliousness or constipa- tion, give them a little California Fig Syrup. It regulates the bowels and stomach and gives these or- gans tone and strenzth so they continue to act as Nature intends them to. It helps build up and strengthen pale, listless, under- weight children. Children love its rich, fruity taste and it’s purely vegetable, so you can give it as often as your child’s abpetite lags or he seems feverish, cross or fretful. Leading physicians have en- dorsed it for 50 years, and its overwhelming sales record of over four million bottles a year shows how mothers depend on it.. A Washineton mother, Mrs. Carrie Encle, 624 F St. NE. says: “My little girl, Gloria, suffers at times from constipation. But what's your idea about Ellsworth, anyway? Does—this—er visit—mean we're getting the dope on him?” “We haven't what you call the dope on anybody yet. And I make it a point not to have too many ideas in advance of the evidence.” The faint emphasis on that “we” brought a quick, embarrassed flush to Peter's checks. “You know I didn't mean—-" he faltered, feeling more than ever like a small boy. “Quite. You wouldn't be here at this moment if the ‘we’ were disallowed. I did my own bit of houssbreaking, pre- cisely because I heven't a fixed' idea about our young friend. But I don't want him to run into any more trouble than is strictly necessary, so I was willing to take the part assigned me in conducting this more or less official preliminary survey, at the same time following a little idea of my own.
