Shayler Will Preach at All Saints’ Church. Right Rev. Ernest V. Shayler, Bishop of Nebraska, who is here to attend the General Convention of the Episcopal Church, will be the special preacher at All Saints’ Church, Chevy Chase Circle, tomorrow morning at the 11 o'clock service. Bishop Shayler, a native of England, is widely known for his work in the Middle and Far West. He is an ex- | tensive writer on church matters and was appointed Bishop of Nebraska in 1919. He resides in Omaha. The organist of the church, W. H. Taylor, is preparing a special program of Sunday music during the convention period. All Saints’ Choir has been largely augmented. Rev. Henry Teller Cocke, rector of All Saints’, announced that the Sunday | school has begun its Fall and Winter | work. Miss Peggy Angel is in charge | of the beginners’ department, where she has a number of assistants working with the children from 4 to 6 years of age. Some of the kindergarten methods are used in this department. Mrs. Joseph Angel conducts the primary department and will keep the staff of helpers she had last year. The children are from”7 to 9 years. The junior department of the Sunday school has been turned over to college graduates, with Miss Alice Cocke in charge. The children remain in this department until they are ready for the sixth grade. The main school is in | charge of the rector of the parish. There is a Bible class for women at All Saints’ taught by Mrs. T. E. Robert- son. The men's Bible class will meet tomorrow morning at 9:45 o'clock for the first time this year and each Sunday i thereafter. This class, ,which has United States Attorney Ralph Given as its president, is taught by Dr. Edward C. Dutton. It is becoming known as an inspirational force in the life of Chevy Chase. All men are welcome to attend its meetings devoted to practical analysis of biblical subjects. The teaching staff in the Sunday school has nearly sixth members. Mr, Broun is superintendent of missions in the Chicago area for the Board of Home Missions of the Evangelical Synod of North America. A series of talks on “The Cross Convention Delegates Wil Triumphant” is being given at various churches in the diocese of Washing- ton by a speakers' committee comprising Mrs. Marietta Minnigerode Andrews, Mrs. Fulton Lewis, Miss Bess Davis Schreiner and Comdr. C. T. Jewell. Ar- rangements are largely in the hands of Comdr. Clark, will begin a series of brief communion meditations on the church covenant. The subject for the morning service will be “One in Christ.” New members will be received into the church fellowship. Good gospel singing of hymns will feature the service at 7:45 pm. “Old- fashioned Hymns” will be Mr. Clark's subject.
