Expressing resentment because her 16- year-old daughter caused her arrest fol- jowing a spanking, Mrs. Charles Wood- #ide faced a Police Court summons here today with the announcement she would eontinue disciplinary measures should the girl return home. Arrested yesterday on a complaint charging assault, which was sworn to by her daughter Lorene. the mother admitted whipping the girl Sunday aft- er she had returned from a ride in the Woodside automobile. | “I beat her.” Mrs. Woodside told au- | thorities. “I'll admit I did. and I knew | every time I struck her it made a mark. | 1t is the only way I can control her. | The minute she gets back under my | roof again she will get another whip- ping. but it won't be quite so severe.
