Thousands, packed along the Corso, NO NIGHT PROWLER on sidewalks, at windows and on roofs, paid their respects to the passing of a brilliant soldier. ‘Thousands of others waited in the Piazza Venezia, where the calsson came to rest near the tomb of the Unknown Soldler. With the tomb as a background, the marshal lay at rest under a brilllant sun in a cloudless blue sky on the cais- son, around which the highest ranking officers of the Italian Army were sta- tioned.
