WASHINGTON, D. €, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13, 1927. AR GREAT APPRE CANNED TOMATOES In figuring over to see what we could offer you in this “Appreciation Sale,” we found that standard quality tomatoes, No. 2 size, seemed to be about as popular an item with a great majority of buyers as we could find. With the close of the tomato-packing scason we found a number of packers who preferred to have cash rather than to carry their stock of tomatoes, so we bought many thousands of cases at what we consider a most attractive figure. Comment on the price at which we are offering these toma- toes seems needless, it is just a question of how many cans, or cases, you feel that you would like to store in your pantry or cellar. Cans . 15€ Cune . 40c Per Dozen 79c Per Case $1.55 “Appreciation Sale” A famously good apple vinegar—Apple Pie Ridge Brand. We have made the price extremely low, and we feel quite sure we are offering you a real opportunity to buy sufficient vinegar for your Fall pickling needs. Per Gallon Jug 39c “Appreciation Sale” A Ever since canned corn was first put on the market, the finest quality corn has al- ways been packed in Maine. Burnham & Morrill have been packing corn for two generations. Paris brand sugar corn is, un- doubtedly, as fine in flavor and a general all-around quality as can be found in the United States. We are making the price extremely low on this item, and we urge those of our patrons who. appreciate fine quality canned corn to buy it by the case and have it handy on the pantry shelves all Winter Jong. Canned corn of this quality should merely be heated in the can and should never be cooked again, as in the course of the canning process it has been thoroughly cooked, and merely needs re- heating to make it ready for the table. 3 o 40¢ “Appreciation Sale” SPICED WAFERS, Lb., 19¢: 2 Lbs, B . The middle of October has arrived again, and the To Our Frlends: Sanitary Grocery Company feels that it should again have a great October “Appreciation Sale” for our tens of thousands of friends who regularly patronize our stores. As the weather be- comes cooler, more groceries are purchased for household use and we have looked over our stocks and we think we have picked out a line of merchandise which will make an appeal from some point or other to every patron of our stores. It is needless to comment on the merchandise or prices—you know what they are, as we sell most of these regularly, twelve months of the year. We do urge you, however, to read carefully every item, to consider care- fully the price, and also to consider the total savings that is possible provided you are will- ing to invest a reasonable amount in groceries at this particular time. All of this merchan- dise will be distributed in generous quantities in our stores, and there is no limit to the amount that anyone may purchase. The only thing is that a Store Manager cannot sell more than he has on hand in the store at one time. It is our intention to offer this sale begin- ning immediately on the issuance of this newspaper, and to run through Friday and Satur- day and a greater part of next week. We sincerely trust that each and every patron will find something in this line of specials which will appeal, and while buying these specially priced items, please remember that our stores are filled with a complete line of good mer- chandise that is sold regularly every day, at prices which mean substantial savings at all times.. - This great October “Appreciation Sale” is merely an expression of how we feel to- ward our friends, and we trust will be something that will be remembered as each October MORTON’S rolls around. / Regiii-Low-Priced Ifems Campbe]l Soup, other than tomato, tin, 10c Comet Rice, pkg ‘White House Rice, pkg. . . . . CAMPBELL’S TOMATO SOUP Another big offering in our great October “Appreciation Sale,” it seems to us, is Campbell’s Tomato Soup. Surely there is nothing in the prepared food line more generally used than this item. We have just received what is practically nine months’ supply, which we must carry until the beginning of the next canning season. There are thousands of our customers who, we are sure, would appreciate the opportunity of buying a dozen cans at a very low price, and you are a sufficiently good judge of values to know that Campbell’s Tomato Soup at these low figures is a remarkable value-giving. There is no limit to the purchasing of any reasonable quantity. 2 Cans ] 5 ¢or.> 85¢ Great “Appreciation Sale” Other Low-Priced Items Asparagus, California ungraded, 2 tins, 29¢ Applesauce, Heart of Maine, tin Van Camp’s Kidney Beans, 9¢; 3 tins. . The manufacturers are extremely desirous of having these soda crackers tried in as many homes as possible, and we also consider it an opportunity to give you an exceptional value at this time. There is no need to tell you that there is nothing better than Loose Wiles Sunshine products.
