Its ‘“coming-of-age” party last night was attended by 500 leading repre- sentatives of the Nation's industry. The policies of the late Elbert H. Gary, who was chairman of the United States Steel Corporation's board of directors at-the time of his death, were credited by several speakers for the growth of the city that hears his name. James A. Farrell, president of the Steel Corporation, promised that the Gary policies would be carried out under his presidency.
