A senior Red Cross life-saving class will be a feature of the October schedule, Vacation Lodge. Recent additions to those enjoying the early Fall daysat Vacation Lodge are: Miss Ruth Tucker, Miss Minnie James, Miss Nita Conklin, Miss Wanda Norcross and Mrs. John Vorkeiper. There wili be the usual Sunday eve- ning vesper hour at the lodge at 7:30, when Miss Marian Sherman will have charge“of the service. Kamp Kahlert. Kamp Kahlert closes today after & very successful Summer, as well as a happy closing wégki : Dabor day was celebrated with water as well as land sports. In the morning & swimming meet was held, in which the Blue team, captained by Kay Jones, de- feated the Red team, with a score of 50 to the Reds' 38. Events in this water carnival included form competi- tion, obstacle races, dashes ahd boat races. In the afternoon the Blues again were triumphant over the Reds, captained by Eloise Lindsay, in pil- ing up more points in the track events. The scores tallied 68 to 49. In this contest there were dashes, ball throws, jumps and a three-legged race. At supper the “silver” loving cup was awarded to Miss Jones, who in turn made a speech of acceptance. Wednesday evening the annual prom was held in the recrea- tion hall, and it proved to be one of the best social events of the season. In charge of the camp orchestra was |, Mary Day, who had assisting her the following campers: Betty Monroe, An- nabel Linthicum, Helen Findlay, Helen Phillips, Eleanor Johnston, Eila San- born, Janet McDonald and Edith Pier- don. June Rose decorated the room, and her color scheme was of yellow . and blue. Audrey Turner was in charge of the favers at the prom, Elizabeth Jenkins of the programs, while Helen Findlay saw to it that the guests enjoyed several features. Among these were special dances, as the spot dance and the prize waltz, Thursday an all-day hike was fea- tured by the campers, and both din- ner and supper were cooked out of doors, The closing banquet was held Fri- day evening, at which time a program was offered. The program committee consisted of Mary Day, Helen Find- lay, Elizabeth Jenkins, June Rose and Audrey Turner. Toasts were made by Helen Findlay, “The Past”; Mary Day, “The Present,” and Miss Dunlap (camp director), “the Future.” Fol- lowing the program of the banquet the final edition of the Kahlert News, the camp’s weekly newspaper, was read. A geremonial was then held to close thé 1927 Kahlert season, A group of campers who had been in camp the better part of the season told briefly what camp had meant to them and what they found they had given to Kahlert. All juniors Jeft camp yesterday, but 2 group of seniers is spending the final week end of the season.
