Barrett have as their guests at their home on Duke street their two sons and daugh- ters-in-law from New York, Mr. and Mrs. Tupper Barrett and ‘Mr. and Mrs. Waller Barrett, and also their son, Lieut. Paul Barrett, U. 8. N. Mr. Barrett's sister; Mrs. Rathbone Smith, who occupies the old Barrétt home adjoining, has been joined by Mr. Smith, who has been in Florida for the past several months. Barrett entertalned at a family dinner of 30 covers and yesterday aft- ernoon they followed “thelr annual custom of being informally at home on Christmas day. Several hundred people called. Miss Jane D. Brewer spent the week end as the guest of Miss Mary Magruder in Annapolis. Mrs. Percy B. Bass and her chil- drert of Elizabeth, N. J., are the guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Blackwell. Mrs. J. J. Nicholson has left for her home in Woodbridge, Va., after a visit to her daughter, Mrs. James A. Allen. Miss Augusta Bode has arrived from the Lucy Cobb Semh in Athens, Ga.. o spend the holldays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eu- gene Bode. Mr. and Guthrie T. Gibson of Gibson, N. are the guests of the % Mr. and Mrs. George Jatter's pares H. Le Hew. Mr. and Mrs. Aylett B. Nicol have returned from a visit to the latter's father, Mr. F. T. Terry, in Assonet, Mass. The New Year eve supper-dance at the George Mason Hotel will be one of the largest of the holiday enter- tainments and the first of its sort in Alexandria, as the hotel has been com- pleted during the past year. Among those who have subscribed “are Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Kemper, Mise Charlotte Kemper, Mr. Richard Kemper, Mr. and Mrs. Clay Brittle and Judge and Mrs, Willlam S. Snow. Mrs. George A.
