BISHOP FREEMAN T0 ORDAIN PRIEST Rev. William L. Mayo Will Be Elevated at Service Here Tomorrow. Rev. Willlam L. Mayo, deacon, as- sistant minister in Rock Creek par ish, will be ordained to the priest. 1iood in the Episcopal Church by Right Rtev. James E. Freeman, Bishop of Washington, at the 11 o'clock service tomorrow morning in the Church of the Ascension. The Rev. Mayo was born in Anne Arundel County, Md., and was educat- ed in the public schools of Annapolis. lie was graduated from St. John's College in 1899 as a bachelor of sci- ence. Entering the teaching profes- slon, he became principal of a high Achool in Delaware, and was sent by the Government to the Philippine Islands, where he became supervisor of schools in the Province of Tarlac. Returning in 1909, he served in the departments and on the Federal Trade Board. For many years he was connected with Epiphany Parish, this city, as lay reader, the superintendent of the Sunday school and a director in the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. He was ordained a deacon by Bishop Freeman October 21, 1923. At the same service at which Re Mr. Mayo is elevated to the priest- 1i00d two theological students will be ndmitted to the dicaonate. These are Viugh V. Clary, now at the Virginia Theological Seminary, and Earle G. Lier, a student at the General Theo- Jogical Seminary, New York. The du- ties to which these young men will be assigned after entering the ministry have not yet been announced. Mr. Clary was born in Prince George County, Va., and educated in the public schools of Prince George County and Petersburg, and later at- tended Willlam and Mary Academy, In Willlamsburg, Va., from which 1ie entered the college of William and Mary. In the Spring of 1917 he en- listed in the Regular Army and saw service In France during the World War. Following his discharge from the Army he entered the Government service. He resigned five years later 10 take up his studies at the Virginia Theological Seminary. Under the direction of Rev. Thomas .
