Douglas, veteran of | the Civil and Spanfsh American Wars and a noted consulting structural en- gineer, died yesterday at his home, Kalmes, near Providence Forge, Va. Funeral services will be held today, with burial in Hollywood Cemetery here. Gen. Douglas fs survived by his widow and several nephews. Serving as a colonel of engineers on the staff of Gen. A. P. Hill during the war between the States, Gen. Douglas established a record of dis- tinction. Among the projects which he carried out was the construction of many of the defenses around Rich- mond, including those which still may be seen on Brook road.
