10 F. E DZERZHINSKY, SOVIET POWER, DIES Organizer and Dominant Leader Since Revolution Ends Busy Career. By the Associated Press. MOSCOW, July 21.—Felix E. Dzer- zhinsky, chairman of the Supreme Council of National Economy in the Soviet government and one of the most powerful figures in Soviet Rus- sla, died suddenly yesterday of heart disease, at the age of 49. Dzerzhinsky, who long was one of the trusted lieutenants of Lenin, prob ably was best known while at the head of the cheka or Russian secret service police. He was inflexible in pursuit of those whom he consid- ered enemies of the Soviet. As he once expressed it, he considered it his duty ‘“neither to judge nor pardon, but to incinerate every one who is on the other side of the barricade.” During his earlier life he spent 11 years in prison because of his revolu tionary ivi He was exiled three time: ch time. ussian revolu- zhinsky was still in prison, but was freed when a general amnesty was declared. He went to Petrograd in August, 1917, and sup- ported the Bolshevists, and in time became chairman of the bureau which corresponds to the Department of Jus- tice in the United States. WARSAW, Poland, July 21 (®).— Two attempts at bombing occurred in Silesia yesterday.
