These bushes have an uncanny babit of blossoming with the first few days of warm weather in March and usually pay the price of their im Petuousness when they are caught by a later frost, which ends their bloom- ing for the season. The blossoms come first and the leaves follow. It is not uncommon to see them bloom- | | ing With patches of late snow on the ground. b The popularity of the rorsythia has grown rapidly in the District in the | last few years.
