Barnsley, one of Olney district's most widely known citizens, died early yesterday morning at the Montgomery County General Hospital, Sandy Spring, aged fifty years. Death was due to typhold-pneumonia and followed an illness of two weeks. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Eva Bell of this county; three daughters and two sons. The funeral will take place at 10:20 o'clock Fri- day morning from the home, burial 1o be in St. John's cemetery, Olney. The Rcckville Lodge of Masons will participate in the services. Mr. Barnsley was a lifelong resident of this county. Forma number of vears he had been a director of the Mont- gomery County Agricultural Soclety. The county commissioners have re- ceived a petition signed by more than 25 per cent of the taxpayers of Laytonsville district asking the im- provement of two miles of the road from Williams’ corner, near Laytons- ville, toward Woodfield. The petition- ers arc the first to take advantage of the county's newest road law, which requires the county commis- sioners to construct not more than two miles of up-to-date road in an district in which at least 25 per cent of the taxpavers petition for same and agree to subscribe to 10 per cent of the cost, the law, however, limit- ing the bond issues for such purposc to $75000 a year.
