¢ TTECH HINSTRR * DEFERS ..V Political Developments in Neighboring Countries Keep Dr. Benes at Home. BY A. R. DECKER. B e Goppa e g™ DAY PRAGUE, July 10—Dr. Edouard Benes, foreign minister of Czecho- slovakia, s been compelled by po- litical developments to postpone his projected trip to America. The French and German elections, development of the Dawes reparations plan and an importaht assembly of the league of nations, all of vital interest to Czecho- slovakia, compel Dr. Benes' presence in Europe. During the regular biannual confer- | yq ence of the little entente at Prague, from July 11 to 13, the foregoing questions will be discussed by the foreign ministers of Czechoslovakia, Rumania and Jugoslavia, along with other questions of common interest, in an effort common course of action where mu- tual interests are concerned, but also to discus ther problems of the hour and determine, so far as possib! on a common political orientatio The Prague conference will discuss first the Dawes plan, with reference to its practical results as regards the reparations claims and obligations of the little entente states; second, the question of guarantees brought forth by acceptance of the experts' plan, and which will apparently be dis- cussed by the allies at London; third, the relations of the little entente to their neighbors, especially as regards rehabilitation of Austria and Hun- gary; fourth, all questions which will arise during the autumn session of the league of nations, in particular the problems of armament reduction, mutual assistance, treaties and mili- tary control. - The conference will decide upon common viewpoints and fix a, com- mon line of action. Besides, there will be an exchange of opinions can- cerning relations with Russia, and “an attempt will be made to take a step forward in that direction, but in full accord with western Europe. Supporters of the little entente point with pride to the Franco-Czech treaty and the treaties of Czechoslo- vakia and Jugoslavia with Italy as indicative of the creative value and the vitality of the little entente.
