LR FOR STREET LGHT Engineer Commissioner Bell Considering Scheme for Improvement of System. Engineer Commissioner Bell yes- torday began an intensive study of the $1,500,000 plan recently prepared for the renovation of Washington's street lighting system. : The major conferred at length with scveral members of the committee Which aided Capt. John Wood, assistant engineer commissioner, in working out the scheme. The Commissoners in framing their original estimates for next year con- sidered an item of several hundred thousand dollars to begin the new street lighting program, but whether this item has survived the cutting of the estimates could not be learned definitely yesterday. Additional Sum Estimated. Warmer Weather Promised Monday By Forecasters A respite from the dominating north winds which have brought unseasonable cold weather to Washington and the Atlantic sea- board is promised for tomorrow by the weather bureau. There will be little change in the tempera- ture today, Normal weather is now ap- proaching from the plains and, ac- cording to the forecaster, will be felt in Washington and alang the Atlantlc coast by tomorrow. b.
