A resolution gliving the police more power to restrict the permits of careless drivers and more adequate traffic facilities was passed, to be sent to the District Commissioners, as a better means of eliminating ac- cidents. The accepting and taking over of the new Eastern High School by the District authorities was discussed at some length, and it was pointed out that it was the desire of the asso- clation that only buildings which will be in keeping with the new school be allowed to be erected in the vicinity. A resolution to that effect was passed and will be sent to the District authorities. Dr. C. J. Murphy urged the associa- tion to support cancer week, telling of the importance of early treatment in order to effect a cure of the diseaSe. He also dwelt on the fatality of the disease when it Is not treated in time. Safety week was also indorsed by the association. Membership Drive.
