Wood of Cambridge, Mass.,, has announced his candidacy for the republican nomination for the Inst Senator Henry Cabot ording to a report recetved night. He will seek the on in the primiries in Massa- chusetts next September. Mr. Wood was born in 1880 in Cam bridge. He Is a graduate of Ha vard University, with the degrees of A. B. and A. M. Mr. Russell was a member of the Cambridge city gov- ernment in 1904-6, and of the Massa- chusetts legislature in 1909-11. In the legislature he was chairman of the committee on taxation and the committee on constitutional amend- ments. He was active in the fight for woman's suffrage and state pro- hibition. In 1910 he led the drive in the legl! lature against the re-election Senator Lodge, voting for A. Law rence Lowell, president of Harvard. | In the progressive campaign of 1912 Mr. Wood was on the bull moosc ticket as candidate for secretary of the commonwealth. Later he was economy and efiiciency commissioner for Massachusetts. He is president of the Massachusdtts Republican Presidential Club.
