Wood of Cambridge, Mass.,, has announced his candidacy for the republican nomination for the Inst Senator Henry Cabot ording to a report recetved night. He will seek the on in the primiries in Massa- chusetts next September. Mr. Wood was born in 1880 in Cam bridge. He Is a graduate of Ha vard University, with the degrees of A. B. and A. M. Mr. Russell was a member of the Cambridge city gov- ernment in 1904-6, and of the Massa- chusetts legislature in 1909-11. In the legislature he was chairman of the committee on taxation and the committee on constitutional amend- ments. He was active in the fight for woman's suffrage and state pro- hibition. In 1910 he led the drive in the legl! lature against the re-election Senator Lodge, voting for A. Law rence Lowell, president of Harvard. | In the progressive campaign of 1912 Mr. Wood was on the bull moosc ticket as candidate for secretary of the commonwealth.
