SATURDAY, MARCH 11, 1922. A “Hog Creek’s” Books Are Closing! | SHARES AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC ALMOST ENTIRELY GONE cag Ure Smile of Victory! J. W. “Hog Creek” Carruth The World's Greatest Fortune Maker for Others. He is known throughout the world as the “Daddy of Desdemona.” He traced the oil structure 20 miles, from Strawn to Desdemona—create' the famous Hog Croek Oil company which paid every one of its many shareholders $10,135 for each $100 tnvested—started the first real oil boom in Texas—transformed a town of 200 inhabitants into u seething city of 40,000 souls—made those who believed in him and followed him rich beyond their fondest dreams. At Mexia, for his J. W. Carruth Of] company, he traced the oil structure 9 miles northeast of the field. His well there—on 1,005 acres —fust last week blew the slush §0 feet into the air and has every indi- cation of being a mighty producer. In Hunt County, on a prodigious tract of 2,812 acres, his rig is set —he is ready to go! The greatest achievement of his unparalleled ca- reer impends. If you expect to be with him then, you must act RIGHT NOW— before the books are closed—before the bars go up. New York Telegraph’s Probe Proves Profit Statement of “Hog Creek” Carruth Unusual Statement Verified. The page advertisement of the Hog Creek Carruth Company of Fort Worth, Texas, was omitted from last Sunday’s edi- tion of The Morning Telegraph because the | publishers required proof that the com- pany had paid $10,185 for every $100 in; vested, which the Hog Creek Oil Com- pany, organized by Mr. Carruth, claimed to have paid each of its shareholders at Des- demona. A wire was sent to Charles W. Barton, staff representative now in Texas, saying advertisement could not be published with- out verification of statements that this un- usual profit was secured. Mr. Barton immediately called on a lead- ing stockholder, who gladly furnished an affidavit of the truth of the dividend state- ments, and told Mr. Barton that any one of the many other stockholders would be equally ready to make affidavit of this fact. Hence the advertisement of the Hog Creék Carruth Company appears in this section today. Reproduction of an article on page 1 of the oil and financial section of the New York Morning Tele- graph of Sunday, February 26th. Mrs. I. C. Rutledge (shown below) of Midlothian, Texas, invested $200 in the famous Hog Creek Oil Company, and a short time later, with all its many other shareholders, received a total of $20,270 CASH on ler investment. Casver Daily Cribune PAGE SEVEN “Hog Creek” was right at Desdemona, where his famous Hog Creek Oil Company paid $10.135 CASH for every $100 invested. ; He is right again at Mexia, where the well of his J. W. Carruth Oil Company blew 80 feet into the air and gives every promise of coming in a huge producer very soon. In Hunt County, on his vast domain of 2,812 acres, his rig is set—he is ready to start the drill that will pierce the roof of what he believes is THE WORLD’S GREATEST STORAGE BASIN OF OIL And— As the Drill Starts Down, the Books Will Close--Forever ur well on 2,812 acres, comprising my great dis- covery in Hunt County—with our books closing to public subscription—The Hog Creek Carruth Com- pany is rapidly nearing the goal that has always meant fortune for my shareholders and myself in the past. : Iam more enthusiastic over our prospects now than I was at this stage of my famous Hog Creek Oil Com- pany, which later startled the world by paying that gigantic dividend of $10,135 CASH for every $100 invested. . During the last few days thousands of people— and I mean that literally—have grasped this last- minute opportunity of joining hands with me in the development of our huge 2,812-acre domain at the intersection of the Celeste-Leonard fold and the Mexia-Wortham anticline in Hunt County. Three- fourths of these people live in Texas—my home state. They know full well what I have doné befort. They want to be with me when I attain a similar triumph. They see in the Hog Creek Carruth Company an exact duplicate of my famous Hog Creek Oil Com- pany, which paid $10,135 CASH for every $100 in- vested. They see in this company an exact dupli- cate of my J. W. Carruth Oil Company, which is standing on the verge of millions at Mexia. They know what I did at Desdemona. They know what f have just done at Mexia. They believe—with me—that those achievements are going to be repeat- ed or excelled very soon in Hunt County. When I started development work at Desdemona I was all alone. But ALL the big companies followed me later and became rich on my discovery. When I started my well at Mexia the big play was in the south part of the field. Once more I turned the trend of development, for today the northeast part of the field, where the J. W. Carruth Oil Company was once a pioneer, is receiving the greatest. play in the entire Mexia district. But the greatest reward always goes to the “leader Your Last Hour Wer our rig up and everything ready to go with o 1 At 3,035 feet in Mexia-Wortham well of the J. W. Carruth Oil com- pany struck the eap-rock. ‘We then rat-tailed ahead with a small bit, which makes a hole only two inches in diameter. At 3,065 feet this rat-tail drill went through the cap-rock—INTO THE SAND! After penetrating the sand for only two feet the drill was withdrawn. AND IMMEDIATELY THEREAFTER THE COLUMN OF SLUSH, MIXED WITH OIL, SHOT 80 FEET INTO THE AIR! The gas pressure was so immense that through this small two-inch escapment, it had the power to raise that 3,000-foot column of slush weighing many tons, and hurl it 80 feet high. And that is why, in Hunt County, from the very first day that “Hog Creek” Carruth turned the spot- light of attention there, the biggest operating com- panies in the southwest started their wild scramble for acreage near me and located as close as possible to my huge domain of 2,812 acres. I am now hemmed in on every side by companies whose names head the Blue Book of Oildom. They saw me proven right at Desdemona. They KNOW Iam right at Mexia. THEY BELIEVE “HOG CREEK” CARRUTH WILL BE RIGHT ONCE MORE IN HUNT COUNTY! The stage is set in Hunt County for one of the greatest winnings that the oil world has ever known. We hold a veritable empire under lease. We are upon the apex—the highest point—of the Celeste- Leonard fold—the famous Mexia-Wortham anticline bisects our property—some of the most celebrated geologists in America, including Julius Fohs and the famous McCoy group of geologists of .Bartlesville, Okla’, have given this territory their unqualified en- dorsement—the bigycst operating companies in the Mid-Continent fields are our neighbors—our rig is set —we are ready to go—our drill will start its ceaseless grind down through the roof of what I believe will prove the greatest storage basin of oil that the world has ever known. Our drilling will be done with both rotary and standard tools—two separate specialized crews to man them. The rotary will be used to go through the surface formations. Then I will standardize and drill on dowfn—to the golden sand. Nothing will be passed up—no stone will be left unturned to get this oil. { pledge you now that this will be one of the most efficiently and at the same time most speedily drilled wells the oil industry has ever known. And when our well blows over the top of the der- rick—and we sell it—with every acre—will one of our dividend checks for a fortune go out addressed to you? 2812 ACRES WITHINTH E CIRCLE GREENVILLE ao HUNT CaO THE HOG cReEK & 8!
