AIRPLANE CRASHES TON. J. CAFE ROOF, ~—TNVURING THREE Pilot Loses Control of Ma- chine He Just Bought and May Die. Three men were injured in an air- Plane accident late yesterday at the plant of the Wittemann-Lewis Air- eraft Company at Hasbrouck Heights, N. J., when an airplane driven by Harry Webb of Morristown, N. J, went out of control and fell upon the roof of a restaurant. Webb was so badly injured that he may die. His right leg was broken in two places and the main artery was cut. Edward Steinel, a garage man, of No, 914 Hamblet Plece, North Ber- gen, N. J., was cut and bruised. Franklin Heitmann, a mechunician employed by the aircraft concern, suffered a broken nose and other fa- cial injuries. Webb recently bought the airplane from the company. He brought Steinel with him to the ficld yester- day to take a flight. It was arranged for Heltmann to go up with them Webb had just got the machine oft the ground when he saw that he was in danger of striking some wires. He executed a quick manoeuvre and lost control of the machine. When the aircraft struck the roof, Heitmann was throw clear, but Webb and Stetnel were pinned in the wreckage, part of which had to be chopped away.
