They were three on the island with no food or water. On the third day two men put off from the station with food and water. When they got to the island they found the men in an exhausted condition. Engstrom was a raving maniac, and the two men that brought the food could not get him off. When they were returning the dory cap- sized and all the men got on the botfom of the boat, excepting Ekstrom, who was an excel- lent swimmer.
