Owing to the scarcity of pipe the work will stop there until more is received from the East, when the company will continue the lay- ing of pipe to the Ocean boulevard and along the highway to M street. Plans have been drawn for a two-story building on the Forty-ninth avenue houle- vard between K and L streets, to be erected next month by the Ocean Boule- vard Improvement Company. The upper part of the building will be occunied by the Oceanside Improvement Club as a place of meeting. The committee to pro- cure arc lights for this district reported that considerable headway had been made in that direction and that in conjunction with the Park Commission they may soon obtain electric power for lighting the Park and Ocean boulevard. Frank J. Fallon will expend about $50,- 000 in adding two storles to the building on the northeast corner of wuis and Leav- enworth streets. It will then contain five stories and 200 rooms. A. Kahn will add two stories to his frame building on_the northwest corner of Second and Folsom streets. The change will provide for five stores and a hotel of eighty rooms above. TULARE, June %.—Warren Ludlow, an employe of the Standard Oil Company, was held up last night and robbed of a month’s pay in his cabin near Turnbull.
