All 1 will say now is that it is a blank outrage.” ) Just what action of protest against the low price will be taken is not known but one prominent farmer stated late this evening that some united action would be taken immedi- ately. The average yield of wheat throughout Stark county is estimated at seven bushels per acre. CONGRESSMEN DON'T B LIKE PRICE FIXED WASHINGTON, Aug. 81.— Con- gressmen representatives of some of the wheat growing states denounced as monstrous and an injustice the $2.20 price set for wheat, For the North Dakota delegation Congress- man Baer said: “The price set is monstrous, an in- justice angd discrimination against the growers of the northwest. The pro- ducers of the south sold their crop for the top price. Gamblers have received $3.06 a bushel at Chicago for imag- inary wheat. Now the farmer comes along with a high grade grain and is penalized by the benificent food ad- ministration. The government has broken faith with the producers.” Others said that not one farmer in twenty raised No. 1 grade; wheat which alone commands the price the government set. Much, they saidpwill sell below the $2.00 mark. Congress- man Baer said that limiting the mid- dleman’s profits would do the consum- er more good than any price imposed on the farmer. “In the open market,” said Senator Johnson, “the farmer could get $3.00 to $3.06 a bushel for wheat. The govern- ment, therefore, is taking close to 80 per cent of his war profits. Now let's do the same all along the line.” PRICE FIXERS HELD GOVERNMENT POSITIONS WASHINGTON, Aug. 381.—(Special) —As the smoke clears away it be- comes more and more evident that the price fixing committee was hand picked and with the exception of three or four of its members it was expect- ed would be a committee susceptible of administration influences. In support of this is cited the fact that five out of the twelve members held government positions. The food administration influences, expressed’ through Barnes, Professor McCarthy and others were the kind to put on the brakes and keep the prices down. When those on the committee advocating a just price made their case so strong that it shook the faith of even those who had been expected to hold out for the low price views, Barnes was hurriedly called back from New York. But this was not enough. The pres- | ident alsg let his views be known to certain members of the committee. One incident which happened. in the committee room will indicate the conservative price views of the food control department. Barnes had been asked to prepare a certain table in- dicating information used in determin- ing the matter of handling the crop. One of the committee men said, “How does that figure out, Mr. Barnes, at $2.40 per bushel?” “I do not know,” he said. “My tables "do not carry the computation beyond two dollars per bushel.” Senator Gronna sald: “The price is not at all satisfactory. It will mean a big loss to our state. 1 never ex- pected Hoover and Barmes to pay our farmers a fair price, so I am not ex- actly disappointed. The price is bet- ter than we hoped for ten days ago and is due to the strong showing made before the committee.” Congressman Young said: “The price is away below the average cost in North Dakota, but it is much better than we hoped for last week and the higher price secured will save our farmers millions of dollars. Only those of vs who are at the capital can appreciate how large a portion of the credit is due to the energetic, persistent and skilful work of Pres- ident Ladd.” - NORTH DAKOTA = OFFICIALS PROTEST BISMARCK, -Aug. 13.—(Special)— News of the establishment of a $2.20 maximum price for No. 1 northern wheat at the Chicago terminals was received with great disappointment by state officials here this morning. The majority of the state officials, who have fought hard to secure a fair deal for the Northwestern farmer, expressed the opinion that §2.20 wheat at Chicago would not encourage the farmers of ADVERTISEMENTS ; mgy%}o_zfiflsfifés = Strong Heal Doctor Says Ox;dlnary Nuxated Iron Will Make Nervous Rundown People 100 Per Cent Stronger In Two Weeks’ Time In Many Cases. NEW YORK, N. Y.—‘One glance is enough to_tell which people have iron in their blood,” said Dr. E. Sauer, a Boston {:}lllysicla.n who has studied widely both in is country and in Great KEuropean medical institutions, in a recent dis- course. They are the ones that do and dare. The others are in the weakling class. Sleepless nights spent worrying over supposed allments, constant dosing with habit forming drugs and narcotics for nervous weaknéss, stomach, liver or kidney disease and useless attempts to brace up with strong coffee or other stimulants are what keep them suffer- ing and vainly longing to be strong. Their real trouble is lack of iron in the blood. Without iron the blood has no power to change food into lving tis- sue and therefore, nothing you eat does you any good; you don’t get the strength out of it. The moment iron is supplied the ‘multitude of dangerous symptoms disappear. I have seen dozens of nerv- ous, rundown people who were ailing all the time, double and even triple their strength and endurance and entirely get rid of every sign of dyspepsia, liver and other trouble in from ten to four- teen days’ time simply by taking iron in the proper form. And this, after they had in some cases been doctoring for months without any benefit. . rZ3Lood If you are not strong or well you owe it to yourself to make the following test: ee how long you can work or how far you can walk without becoming tired. Next take two five-grain tablets of ordinary - nuxated iren three times per day after meals for two weeks. Then test your strength again and see for yourself how much you have gained. There is mnothing like good old iron to ut color in your cheeks and sound, ealthy flesh on your bones. But you must take iron in a form that can be easily absorbed and assimilated like nuxated iron if you want it to do you any good, otherwise it may prove worse than useless. NOTE — Nuxated Iron recommended above by Dr. E. Sauer, is one of the newer organic iron compounds. TUnlike . the older inorganic iron products, it is éasily assimilated, does mot injure the teeth, make them black, nor upset the stomach; on_the contrary, it is a most potent remedy, in nearly all forms of in- digestion, as well as for nervous, run- down conditions. The Manufacturers have such great confidence in Nuxated Iron that they offer to forfeit $100.00 to any charitable institution if they cannot take any man or woman under 60 who lacks iron and increase their strength 100 per cent or over in four-weeks’ time pro- vided they have mo serious organic trou- ble. They also offer to refund your money if it does not at least double your strength and endurance in ten days’ time. It is dispensed in this city by all good druggists.
