votes, defeat the men ‘the farmers mdorsed and-elect: Fraine.. Here are shown " this picture was taken 185 automobiles were counted standing,-and one block part of the 200 automobiles that brought the audience frem farms and vlllages for scores of miles around Hoople. From the spot where up the street could be seen others standing on the side streets. Hoople with. streamers bearing a picture of Lynn J. Frazier and a Nonpartlsan League motto either in front or rear. These cars all left THE CRISIS IN NORTH DAKOTA SO-CALLED “Good Government - League” with a rmlhona.lre insurance man and mortgage broker at the head of it, is' the - latest. It was formed behind closed doors to protect the state against “an impending ‘crisis.” Correct! The Insurance companies - and Political Grafters are facing a crisis. - During thirty years of abso- lute control they have fleeced the farmer to their heart’s content. Now the farmer threatens to take control. . It is indeed a crisis for the wrong- doers. ‘But there is no 1mpendmg cnsxs for the farmers and people of the state. : X : AN INSULT TO THE FARMERS The meanest thing. the kept-press and paid agents of corrupt gov- ernment have said about the farmers’ League is that the candidates that the farmers hdve indorsed for state and legislative offices can be con- trolled. This is an insult to the farmers and whole people of the state.’ They admit that your candidates are honest; intelligent and trustworthy —as good as the best, yet they charge that these men won’t know enough to know what to do after you have elected them. These fa.kers know better than that. The trouble is that they know that your candidates cannot be controlled. They know that these men - - are true citizens and will work for the interest of the whole state. * You have no reason to be afraid of the men you have indorsed. But the insurance companies and political fakers have every reason to' be afraid of the men you have indorsed. And these precious grafters are the fellows who form “good g'overn- ment leagues” and do all the howling.. "~ You should worry. .. WHY THEY BOOST BURDICK : . Politicians have worked overtime to develop ill feeling between the farmers’ candidate, Mr. Frazier, and U. L. Burdick. Mr. Burdick is a progressive and all who are acquainted with him beheve the corporations could not: make him their tool. Yet the Gang Press and agents of Bxg Business are boosting for Burdick for governor. ; These same papers and corporations are fighting- the League." From .every housetop these tricksters proclaim Mr. Burdick the farmers’ greatest friend. At the same time they denounce the farmers’ League, vilify and slander their leaders and in scorn tie cowbells to the ' men the farmers themselves have indorsed. MEANWHILE, THE GANG IS QUIE'I‘LY SW]NGING EVERY : STALWART VOTE: ‘TO FRAINE. . The inhsurance companies and rallroads don’t ‘want Frazler for governor because they know he is with the farmers. They don’t want Burdick either unless they can control him. They do want Frame—- : because they know that he will do their bidding. THEY BOOST BURDICK TO SPLIT THE FARMER VOTE. - They ‘can not nominate Fraine unless they can divide: the farmers and their friends.. In this way they hope to get some progressive farm- ers and ‘business men who are too much awake to vote for Fraine to w. e their votes by: voting for Burdick. They know that a progressxve : ‘vote for Burdick is half a vote for Fraine. ‘So long as the Gang can not control Burdxck there is no quarrel ; between Burdick and Frazier or between Burdick’s friends and the farmers-and their friends.. The fight is ‘between 'the farmers and " those ‘who would use Burdick and his friends to divide the farmers’ ' The farmers indorsed Frazier, - They did this because they l;elleve he is better fitted than any other man to be their governor e ‘ments to get out every voter for the League. other good and ‘able men.. They could only indorse one. If they had indorsed Burdick the Kept Press would be beosting some other progres- sive to split up the League vote. Make no mistake. Your fight is not with Burdick SO LONG AS FRAINE IS IN THE RACE. It is with the Gang who use Burdick and his friends to deceive, confuse and divide you WHILE THEY QUIETLY - ORGANIZE THE FORCES THEY CONTROL IN THE HOPE OF PUT- TING FRAINE ACROSS. : Stand together, boost together, vote together, for Frazier and all the candidates that th1rty thousand farmers have indorsed and you go to certain victory. Or listen to the song of the politician, be divided andhsem Take your choice. The political trickster holds his breath to see whether this: old: triek’ will work again or not. HE IS AFRAID-IT WON'T WORK! s T don’t think it will either. It is up to you to show him. LOOK OUT FOR A LATE TRICK ' With Burdick and Fraine in the.race Frazier is a sure winmer— unless they can split the farmer vote. As they find they can not split the farmer vote theG:mgmaytry to unite on Fraine or Burdick. Buf Burdick is too progressive to sup-- port Fraine. Their only chance to make any showing at all is to unite on Burdick. But the Gang will not get back of Burdick unless he will " pledge himself to block the farmers in the legislature. So far they have failed to get Burdick to do that. We dan’t believe they can make a deal with him. If they could frame up with Burdick, Fraine would be out of the race in twenty-four hours. Be on your guard. There may be somé very interesting devdup ments in the next few days. IT°S ALL UP TO YOU : Everybody knows how this election will turn out—if the farmers and their friends stick together. That’s the only question, no matter what the Gang does. out a struggle—if you stand firmly together. You can be defeated only by yourselves. “For the first time you are organized—ready to win a great vmtory. You all know what to do and want it done. NOW STICK AND DO IT: Let the farm work rest for a week. The politicians won't rob you - of that. Tt will be waiting for you. Let it rest and work a week for better government for all the people of North Dakota. - Go to your precinct meeting the 21st. There make sure arrange- Call on every non-member voterin the country and town. Hand each of them a-list of the League candidates, show them why they should vote for the people’s cause and see that they get to the polls June 28th. Give special attention to your friends in town and city. Only: a few days more. Let every patriot prove himself. When forty thousand farmers campaign for a week there can be but one result—an overwhelming “yictory. .
