We repeat' that we cannot understand why this attitude should be ! assumed at this time, unless such critics believe that. politics in North Dakota has been conducted strictly in the interess of their business and not in. the interests of the farmers. Their position in opposing the League is 'without any apparent sound reason, as has been demonstrated by the feeble efforts of gang writers in some state papers: - If concerted and strenuous opposition is shown the League, its officers and can- didates by business men generally; such ' ‘opposition will only further convince the Political Advertisement FO, 3 g I hereby announce. myself as a candidate for the office of Sheriff of Oliver County on the Republican ticket, subject to the wvote of the people at the Primaries on June 28th. One thing we do know and that is that when the rank and file of farmers join a-movement ‘such ‘as theyx have done in _ Wells county it means something ‘and, further, the character of the members is a guarantee that mneither should they or those whom they may elect will do any- flxing to hart North Dakota. THEY SHOULD WORRY Froggy Smith says: “Farmers will tell you that they ought to have an ors ganization just like the bankers. That is ‘what we think, too, but the bankers’ organization is handled in a businesslike way.” Froggy is doing a great deal of worrying for fear that the farmers have not chosen the right kind of leaders. Wonder if he would have had any “hol- ler” coming if they had selected him for governor ? Let’s not worry about the farmers. This is their organization. They have a right to organize if they want to. If they succeed in putting across what they started out to do, what is going to stop- them?
