Birmingham. Mrs, Birmingham taught in the schools of East Hartford until her marriage but was especially trained for playground work at Dr. Arnold's college. The playground will open c¢n Monday, July 8. Children from the kindergarten age of 13 years old will be eligible and it is the aim of Mrs, Birmingham to maintain a strictly up-to-date playground in every re- spect. No new piece of apparatus will be installed this year, as the present apparatus will no doubt be moved to the New Norton park in the near future. However, some new features will be introduced to make the playground an intereating place for the children during the summer months. It will run - for seven weeks and will close on August 24. The playground committee, which was re-elected last year, consists of Principal Orrin L. Judd, chairman; Mrs. James Simpson, Mrs. P. W. 8mith, Frank Hart and Joseph T. McCarthy, chairman of the town schaol committee. Reunion Date Fixed According .to an announcement made today, the annual reunion of the Plainville Graded school alumui usscciation wifl be held on Batur- day, August 24. Plans are being made for the day and an elaborate program is being arranged. The af- fair is expected to be largely attend- ed this year as in the past. Strawberry Festival ‘The W. H. & F.
