WILSON AWAITS SENTENCE POR ASSAULT |§ Convicted By Jury of Shooting Hus- | 3R band—In Jefferson Market Prison New York, Jan. 35 UP — Mrs. Esther Evans de Forest Wilson, big | game huntress, was in the Jefferson Market women's prison today await- ing sentence for assault in the sec- |4 ond degree for shooting her hus- band, Dallett H. Wilson, lawyer. A jury fn general session court 1 yesterday found Mrs. Wilson guilty and recommended mercy. She was remanded for sentence Tuesday. ‘The shooting occurred in Wilson's | {i§}. Mrs. Wilson faces the alternatives of two sentences. The other calls for an indeterminate penitentiary sentence of six months | to three years in the discretion of the municipal parole board. Mrs. Wilson heard without emotion and was smiling when she descended from the prison van at the prison. At her trial she | Ak testified she did not remember firing the shot, ORDER REDUCTION Boston, Jan. 25 UP—The state commissioners of public utilities have ordered a reduction in the rates charged by the Beverly Gas and Electric company. The order came after a beveral months' fight by customers, the mayor of Beverly | 3 and the selectmen of Danvers. The new electric rates ordered were 10 cents in place of 11 per kilowatt hour for the first three hours and 6 cents in place of 9 for the next five hours. For more than eight | hours the rate of ¢ cents was left unchanged.
