DAWES 10 HEAD BIG BANK COMBINATION Will Be Chairman of Joint Board of Directors ‘of Chicago Institution Following Merger. Chicago, Dec. 14 (P—Vice Presi- dent Charles G. Dawes will be chair- man of the joint board of directors of the combined Central Trust Cg. and the Bank of America, wh merger was announced yesterday. Assets totalling $160,000,000 were listed by the two banks, the new bank, the latest of a series of con- solidations among Chicag banks, will retain the name of the Central Trust Co., with wh'h Mr. Dawes has long been identified. Joseph Otis, president of the Cen- trol Trust Co., was chosen president ©of the merged institution. Mr. Dawes' active assumption of his new duties will not take place, it was anno -el, until after re- tirement from the vice presidency March 4. Dr. Frank Crane Leaves Estate Worth $200,000 Los Angeles, Dec. 14 (UP—Dr. Frank Crane, writer, who died lgst November in Nice, France, left an estate of $200,000 to his widow. A petition tp probate the will was filed here yesterday. Dr. Crane moved here from New York three years ago. His widow lives here with a daughter, Ella 8. Crane. Dr Crane also was survived by a son, James L. Crane of Los An- geles.
