Y BRADLEY BECONES AN EAGLE SCoUT Warren Receives Combination Silver and Bronze Award Bcoutmaster Leon €. Bradley of Troop 4 became an Eagle Scout and Eagle Scout Winthrop Warren of the same troop received a combination silver and bronze palm award at an exceptionally heavily attended ses- | sion of the Boy Scout court of honor | held Wednesday evening in the Cen- tral Junior High school auditorium. Beven life scout badges were award- | ed and four boys became star scouts, while 160 merit badges were won and second class rank was approved | for 31 boys. Troop 4 of the First Congregation- al church won the most points at | this session of the court, but it clip- | ped only about 50 points of the 303- point lead of Troop 21, so that the Nathan Hale Junior High school organization is considered to have a safe lead in the contest for the council camp. Mr. Bradley, while his record is not continuous, is believed to have been in New Britain scouting for a longer period than anyone else, He Jjoined Troop ¢ as a scout when it ! ‘was organized back before 1914, but he left to enlist in the army and to see service in Europe during the World war. On his return he enter- ed Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, |3; but about six years ago he came back \ to New Britain and became assist- ant scoutmaster of his old troop. He served one year as scoutmaster and then became assistant once more, while for the last two years he has again been scoutmaster.
